Private Game Drives · Bush Walks · Sundowners · Maasai Culture · Migration Season

Morning: Private Charter from Wilson Airport, Nairobi

Your journey begins at Wilson Airport with a smooth, dedicated check-in for your private charter flight (approx. 45 min) to Olare Orok Airstrip in the heart of the Mara ecosystem. From the moment wheels leave the tarmac, the wild world below begins its quiet enchantment.

11:00 AM: Arrival · Mahali Mzuri

A warm welcome awaits on the airstrip before your game drive transfer into camp — your first glimpse of Olare Motorogi Conservancy’s pristine, crowd-free plains. Check into your private luxury tent suite: a soaring canvas villa with handcrafted furnishings, a plunge pool overlooking the valley, and a vast outdoor deck where the savannah unfolds to every horizon.

1:00 PM: Welcome Lunch at the Main Deck

A beautifully presented three-course lunch on the open deck, where vervet monkeys sway in the trees and a family of warthogs grazes on the lawn below. Your camp manager briefs you on the five days ahead — flexible, personal, entirely yours to shape.

4:00 PM: Afternoon Game Drive

With exclusive access to a private 9,000-acre conservancy, there are no other vehicles, no queues, no noise. Your expert guide sets off into wide-open terrain. Elephant families, reticulated giraffe, and the possibility of lion and leopard in the first golden hour.

7:30 PM: Candlelit Bush Dinner

A private dinner set up in the bush beyond camp — lanterns glowing in the dark, the sound of the wild all around, a Swahili-inspired menu prepared by your private chef. A night to arrive fully.

5:00 AM: Pre-Dawn Transfer to Balloon Launch Site

Wake to coffee and warm pastries delivered to your suite, then slip out into the pre-dawn dark for a short transfer to the balloon launch site. The sky is a deep indigo, the plain is hushed, and the balloon is already breathing with warm air above the grass.

5:30 AM: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Safari

Rise silently above the Mara ecosystem as the sun breaks the horizon in a blaze of copper and gold. Below — elephant herds, zebra in long columns, lion pride still stretched out from the night. Approximately one hour aloft in absolute stillness, save the occasional roar of the burner.

7:30 AM: Champagne Bush Breakfast

Land to a white-linen table set in the open wilderness — sparkling wine, farm eggs, artisan bread, fresh tropical fruit, and the sound of birdsong from every tree. One of Africa’s most iconic mornings.

10:00 AM: Return to Camp · Spa & Rest

The conservancy is yours to inhabit slowly. A signature Mahali Mzuri massage at the tented spa, a long soak in your plunge pool, or a hammock afternoon with a cold drink and an open notebook.

4:00 PM: Big Cat Focus — Private Game Drive

Your guide has been tracking a resident leopard in the acacia thickets and a cheetah coalition on the open plain all morning. This afternoon drive is dedicated entirely to finding them — with the advantage of having the entire conservancy to yourselves. Sundowners poured in the field as the sky turns violet.

7:30 PM: Dinner Under the Stars

An intimate dinner on the camp’s upper deck — clear skies above, the plain stretching dark and alive below, wine poured slowly, and a conversation with your guide about the lives they watch every day.

6:30 AM: Guided Bush Walk with Maasai Ranger

Step off the vehicle and onto the earth. Accompanied by your guide and a senior Maasai ranger, this walk slows time right down — fresh spoor in the soil, medicinal plants, the sound of the wild stripped of all distance. An hour of walking that changes how you see everything.

8:30 AM: Bush Breakfast in the Field

Your team has set up a full breakfast beneath a stand of fever trees — eggs to order, Kenyan chai, fresh fruit, and the sound of the Mara waking up around you. No clock, no hurry.

11:00 AM: Private Maasai Village Cultural Visit

A meaningful, unhurried visit to a local Maasai manyatta facilitated by Mahali Mzuri’s community partners. Sit with a warrior elder, learn the art of fire by friction, understand the beadwork language worn by every woman in the village, and browse handcrafted pieces directly from the artisans. A portion of every purchase goes directly to the community.

1:30 PM: Return to Camp · Private Lunch

Lunch is served on your private deck overlooking the valley — a curated spread of seasonal Kenyan produce, cold pressed juices, and a long, restorative afternoon at your own pace.

4:00 PM: Afternoon Drive — The Northern Plains

The northern sector of the conservancy opens into a vast, treeless plain — one of the finest bigsky landscapes in the Mara. Your guide leads a drive through buffalo herds, hyena dens, and the corridors where the Great Migration channels through. Sundowners served on a natural rock outcrop with a 360° view of the conservancy.

7:30 PM: Fireside Dinner at Camp

Dinner by a roaring fire in the camp’s central boma — a slow, warm meal with your camp team, tales of the bush, and the sound of lions calling somewhere out on the plain.

6:00 AM: Pre-Dawn Full-Day Expedition Departure

Pack a full picnic and depart before sunrise for a rare all-day deep-wilderness game drive — a Mahali Mzuri signature experience reserved for guests who want to go further. No return until sundown. Just you, your guide, the land, and whatever the day decides to reveal.

8:00 AM: Breakfast in the Field

Your team serves a full hot breakfast from a portable kitchen set up beneath an acacia grove — eggs, toast, local honey, strong Kenyan coffee, and the sound of a hadada ibis announcing the morning.

11:00 AM: Migration Crossing Watch — Mara River (Seasonal)

During peak season (July–October), your guide positions the vehicle at the Mara River well ahead of the crowds. The wildebeest gather on the far bank in their thousands — the tension builds over hours, and then the river explodes. Even outside peak season, the river corridor delivers crocodile, hippo, and exceptional birdlife.

1:00 PM: Picnic Lunch Under the Acacias

A full spread laid out on a folding table in the shade — cold meats, artisan cheeses, sourdough, fresh salads, lemonade, and wine. Lunch in the wild, unhurried and long.

4:00 PM: Afternoon: Predator Tracking

Your guide has intelligence from the morning on a lion pride with cubs in the conservancy’s southern reaches. The afternoon is dedicated to finding them — following tracks, scanning ridgelines, letting the land speak. Sundowners poured wherever you happen to be.

7:30 PM: Farewell Eve — Chef’s Table Dinner

Your penultimate evening is marked with a special chef’s table dinner — a bespoke, multi-course menu celebrating Kenyan flavours, paired with wines selected by your sommelier. A long table, candles flickering in the dark, and a night that earns its place in memory.

6:30 AM: Last Dawn Game Drive

Your final morning drive belongs only to gratitude. No agenda, no targets — just the Mara in her first light, your guide pointing out things you’d have missed on day one. The conservancy feels personal now. It always does by the end.

9:30 AM: Farewell Bush Breakfast

A slow, ceremonial final breakfast set up in the wild — your team lays out a full table in a favourite spot. The morning belongs entirely to you. No rush, no checking the time. Your camp family gathers to send you off with handmade gifts and warm farewells.

12:00 PM: Check-out · Personalised Farewell

Your butler oversees every detail of your departure. Luggage is transferred, memories are sealed, and your camp manager walks you to the vehicle with genuine warmth. Mahali Mzuri has a way of becoming home very quickly.

1:00 PM: Game Drive Transfer to Olare Orok Airstrip

Even the transfer to the airstrip is a final gift — a last game drive through the conservancy, the plain stretching wide in every direction, the sky enormous and blue. The aircraft climbs, and below you the Mara shrinks slowly into savannah, river, and light.

2:30 PM: Private Charter Back to Nairobi

Board your private charter at Olare Orok Airstrip for the flight back to Wilson Airport, Nairobi. Toast the journey with a parting glass — and carry something home that no luggage tag can hold.
